Savory Venison Stew - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 lb. venison, cubed
    1/4 c. bacon drippings
    2 onions, cut into chunks
    2 carrots, cut into chunks
    2 stalks celery, cut into chunks
    2 (10 oz.) cans beef broth
    2 c. dry red wine
    2 bay leaves, crumbled
    salt and pepper to taste
Preparation
    Dust the meat with flour; brown in a skillet containing the bacon drippings.
    Transfer both to a stew pot.
    Add the remaining ingredients.
    Cover; simmer slowly for at least 2 hours.
    Makes 4 servings.
