Butterscotch Slices - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 1/2 c. Swans Down cake flour
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1 1/2 c. brown sugar, firmly packed
    1 c. chopped walnuts
    1 1/2 tsp. lemon juice
    2 1/2 tsp. baking powder
    1 c. butter
    2 eggs, beaten
    1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
Preparation
    Sift flour once, measure, add baking powder and salt and sift again.
    Cream the butter. Add sugar gradually, creaming well.
    Add eggs, one at a time, beating thoroughly after each. Add nuts and flavorings. Add flour.
    Mix well.
    Shape in 2-inch rolls or small loaves and roll in wax paper. Chill overnight or until firm enough to slice.
    Cut 1/8-inch slices. Bake on an ungreased baking sheet in hot oven at 425\u00b0 for 5 to 6 minutes.
    Makes 10 dozen 2-inch cookies.
