Sour Cream Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. brown sugar, tightly packed
    1/2 c. butter or oleo
    1/2 c. sour cream mixed with 1 tsp. soda
    2 eggs, separated (stiffly beat egg whites)
    1 1/2 c. flour
    1/2 tsp. nutmeg
    1/2 tsp. vanilla
    1/4 to 1/2 c. chopped pecans (if desired)
Preparation
    Cream together the butter and sugar until well blended.
    Add the egg yolks, nutmeg and vanilla, stirring well to blend. Alternately add the flour and sour cream, beginning and ending with flour.
    Fold in egg whites until well blended.
    Pour into a greased and floured tube pan and cook for about 45 minutes at 300\u00b0.
