Ingredients

1/2 c. butter or margarine
1/2 c. shortening
1 c. granulated sugar
2 eggs
2 tsp. vanilla
2 1/2 c. sifted flour
3/4 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt
Preparation

Cream butter, shortening and sugar together until light and fluffy.
Add eggs one at a time, stirring thoroughly after each addition.
Add vanilla.
Slowly add sifted dry ingredients, mixing thoroughly.
Drop dough by teaspoonfuls on ungreased cookie sheet 2 1/2 inches apart; flatten with bottom of glass.
Bake in hot oven (400\u00b0) for 7 minutes or until golden brown.
Makes 5 dozen.
