Okra And Tomatoes - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 lb. okra
    2 c. water
    1 medium onion, sliced
    1 Tbsp. vinegar
    1 tsp. salt
    2 Tbsp. bacon drippings
    1 (16 oz.) can stewed tomatoes, undrained
    1/2 tsp. sugar
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1/4 tsp. pepper
Preparation
    Wash okra well; cut off tips and stem ends.
    Cut okra into 1/2-inch slices.
    Combine okra, water, onion, vinegar and 1 teaspoon salt.
    Cover and cook over medium-high heat for 15 minutes.
    Drain off liquid; cook over low heat until all moisture evaporates.
    Add remaining ingredients; cook over medium heat, turning frequently, until brown.
