Pineapple Applesauce Cake - cooking recipe

1 (16 oz.) can applesauce
1 (8 oz.) can crushed pineapple
1 c. shortening
3 c. brown sugar
2 eggs
4 c. flour
2 tsp. soda
2 tsp. salt
2 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. nutmeg
1 tsp. ginger
2 c. raisins
1 c. nuts
1 c. maraschino cherries
1 c. dates
Preparation

Blend sugar, eggs and shortening together.
Sift dry ingredients together.
Add applesauce and pineapple to batter, then add nuts, raisins and fruit.
Bake in tube pan at 350\u00b0 for 2 hours.
