Easy Roast - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 Tbsp. salad oil
    2 to 3 lb. roast
    1 pkg. dry onion soup mix
    1 can cream of mushroom soup
    water
    1 bay leaf
    2 Tbsp. flour or cornstarch
Preparation
    In a Dutch oven over medium heat in salad oil, brown a roast on all sides.
    Pour off the fat.
    Empty soup mix on the meat. Stir in mushroom soup, 1/4 cup water and bay leaf (remove before serving).
    Cover.
    Simmer 2 1/2 to 3 hours until tender.
    Add more water as necessary during cooking.
    Remove beef to platter.
    Add flour or cornstarch to 1/4 cup water.
    Stir until smooth.
    Stir into pan drippings over high heat, stirring constantly.
    Cut meat into thin slices.
    Serve meat and gravy together.
