Red Stew For Polenta(Umido) - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 lb. beef stew meat or chicken or venison, cut up
    1 lb. pork steak, diced
    2 Tbsp. oil
    2 Tbsp. butter
    1 onion, chopped
    1 can stewed tomatoes
    1 1/2 cans water
    1 clove garlic or more
    pinch of sage
    salt and pepper to taste
Preparation
    Brown meats and onion in oil and butter.
    Add remaining ingredients and stew until meats are tender.
    Add 1 can drained peas, any spices you like and tomato sauce (all optional).
    Serve over polenta.
