Coconut Cream Pie - cooking recipe
Ingredients

2 tsp. all-purpose flour
1/2 tsp. salt
2 c. milk
2 tsp. vanilla
2 tsp. cornstarch
1/2 c. sugar
3 or 4 egg yolks
1/2 pkg. coconut
Preparation

Blend dry ingredients together.
Add milk and cook over medium heat until thickened, stirring constantly.
Add slightly beaten egg yolks and cook one minute longer.
Add vanilla.
Cool 5 minutes, stirring twice and stirring in half of coconut.
Sprinkle half of remaining coconut in baked pie shell.
Pour filling into crust.
Beat egg whites with 4 tablespoons sugar and 1/2 teaspoon tartar.
Sprinkle remaining coconut over top and brown slightly.
