Texas Hash - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 large onions, chopped fine
    3 Tbsp. shortening
    1 lb. hamburger
    1 tsp. salt
    2 c. canned tomatoes
    1/2 c. uncooked rice (Minute)
    1 tsp. chili powder
    1/4 tsp. pepper
Preparation
    Cook onions in shortening until onions are yellow; add hamburger and salt.
    Cook until mixture falls apart.
    Add tomatoes, rice and other seasonings.
    Put in casserole.
    Cover and bake at 350\u00b0 for 45 minutes.
    Yields 8 servings.
