Berry Good Topping - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 pint fresh strawberries, divided
1/4 c unsweetened apple juice
2 tsp cornstarch
2 tbsp unsweetened apple juice concentrate
1/4 tsp vanilla
Preparation

Peel and halve pears. Soak pears in a gallon of water with 1 1/2 tbsp salt. Soak overnight in refrigerator. Drain water off pears. make a syrup of 1 part water and 2 parts sugar or 1 part water and 1 part sugar; which ever you prefer. Cook pears in syrup, bring to a boil for 4-8 minutes. Pour into fruit jars and seal.
