Ingredients

1/2 c. grated Cheddar cheese
1/3 c. milk
1 egg
1 small onion, grated or chopped
applesauce
3 Tbsp. flour
shortening or salad oil
1/2 tsp. salt
4 medium potatoes
Preparation

In a bowl beat egg, then beat in milk, salt and flour.
Add grated or chopped onion and grated cheese.
Wash and peel potatoes, then grate directly into egg mixture, working rapidly because grated potato tends to darken.
