German Grebble - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 eggs
    1 tsp. salt
    2 tsp. baking powder
    1/2 tsp. soda
    1/2 c. sugar
    1/4 tsp. cloves
    1 pint sour whipping cream
    4 to 5 c. flour
Preparation
    Beat eggs; add sugar and beat again.
    Add rest of ingredients and mix well.
    Add enough of the flour to make a soft dough.
    Roll out on a floured board to 1/2-inch thickness.
    Cut into 3 x 4-inch squares.
    Make 2 slits in each square.
    Pull one corner through opposite slit.
    Fry in hot oil until brown on both sides, like doughnuts.
    Roll in sugar.
