Cry Babies(Soft Cookie) - cooking recipe

Ingredients

1 c. white sugar
1 egg
2 tsp. soda, in 1 c. hot water
1/2 c. molasses
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. ginger
1 tsp. salt
1 c. shortening
4 c. flour

Preparation

Mix together sugar and shortening.
Add egg and molasses. Alternately add water and dry ingredients. Drop by teaspoonful onto greased cookie sheet.
Bake at 350\u00b0 for approximately 10 minutes. While still warm, frost with a thick frosting made of powdered sugar, vanilla and milk or water.
