Chicken Cheese Meltaway - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. macaroni
    1/4 c. margarine
    1/4 c. chopped onion
    1/4 c. flour
    1 tsp. salt
    1/8 tsp. thyme
    1/4 tsp. pepper
    2 c. milk
    2 c. cooked chicken
    1/3 lb. Velveeta cheese
    1/2 c. bread crumbs
    1 tsp. parsley (optional)
Preparation
    Cook macaroni in salted water until tender.
    Drain and rinse. Melt margarine; add onion.
    Cook over low heat 3 to 5 minutes. Stir in flour, salt, thyme and pepper.
    Add milk gradually.
    Cook until thickened, stirring constantly.
    Put 1/2 of macaroni in lightly greased 2-quart casserole.
    Add 1/2 of chicken and cheese (in chunks).
    Repeat layers.
    Cover with sauce.
    Sprinkle bread crumbs and parsley on top.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 25 minutes, covered, and 5 minutes more uncovered.
