Nut Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 lb. butter
    3 c. sugar
    1 tsp. almond flavoring, lemon or vanilla
    6 eggs
    3 c. plain flour
    1/2 pt. whipping cream
    1 tsp. baking powder
    1/2 tsp. salt
    4 c. nuts (pecans, walnuts or both)
Preparation
    Cream the butter and sugar well, adding flavoring and eggs, one at a time. Beat well after each egg.
    Add flour and cream alternately.
    Blend in nuts and pour mixture into greased and floured pan.
    Put in cold oven and set at 325\u00b0.
    Bake for 1 1/2 hours.
    Makes one large pan or 10 small cakes. Bake small cakes for 1 hour.
    Leave 1-inch space between small pans.
    Fill about 1/2 full.
