Italian Cream Cake - cooking recipe

1 stick margarine
1/2 c. shortening
2 c. sugar
5 egg yolks
2 c. self-rising flour
1 c. buttermilk
1 tsp. vanilla
1 c. Angel Flake coconut
1 c. chopped nuts
5 egg whites
Preparation

Cream margarine and shortening.
Add sugar.
Beat until smooth.
Add egg yolks and beat.
Add flour, alternating with buttermilk.
Add vanilla, coconut and nuts.
Fold in egg whites. Bake at 350\u00b0 for 25 minutes in two greased 8-inch cake pans.
Ice with Italian cream cake icing.
