Oatmeal Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/2 c. hot water
    1 c. rolled oats
    1/2 c. shortening
    1 c. white sugar
    1 c. brown sugar
    2 eggs
    1 1/2 c. sifted flour
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. cinnamon
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1/2 c. nuts
    1 tsp. soda
Preparation
    Pour hot water on oatmeal.
    Let stand 20 minutes.
    Cream shortening and sugar.
    Add eggs and beat well.
    Add oatmeal, all ingredients; beat well.
    Bake in pan for 40 minutes at 300\u00b0.
