Ruth'S Chocolate Pound Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 c. sugar
    1 1/2 c. shortening
    5 eggs
    3 c. cake flour
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1/2 tsp. baking powder
    1/2 c. cocoa
    1 1/4 c. whole milk
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1 tsp. lemon extract
Preparation
    In a large mixing bowl, cream
    sugar and shortening together well.
    Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. In another large bowl, mix flour, salt, baking powder and cocoa. Add dry mixture to creamed mixture alternately with milk.
    Stir in vanilla and lemon extract.
    Bake in a greased and floured tube pan at 325\u00b0 for 1 1/2 hours or until cake tests done.
    Cool in pan for 10 minutes.
    Invert cake onto a cake rack.
    This is not a \"hurry up\" cake.
    You must beat the sugar mixture and each egg until mixture lightens.
    This is very important!!
