Divinity - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 c. sugar
    3/4 c. light corn syrup
    1 c. boiling water
    pinch of salt
    3 egg whites, stiffly beaten
    3/4 tsp. vanilla
    1 c. pecans, finely chopped
Preparation
    Slowly bring sugar, water, syrup and salt to a boil.
    Cook to hard-ball stage.
    Pour mixture over stiffly beaten egg whites; beat until it starts to thicken.
    Add pecans and vanilla.
    Beat until thick enough to drop a small amount at a time onto waxed paper. Cool.
    Yields 36 pieces of candy.
