Black Walnut Cake - cooking recipe

2/3 c. sugar
1/4 c. shortening
1/4 tsp. salt
1 egg
1/2 c. milk
3/4 c. chopped walnuts
1/2 c. flour
1 tsp. vanilla
1 c. flour
2 tsp. baking powder
Preparation

Mix nuts with 1/2 cup flour.
Set aside.
Cream sugar and shortening.
Add unbeaten egg and flavoring.
Beat thoroughly.
Mix 1/2 cup flour, salt and baking powder; add alternately with milk. Add your nuts mixed with flour.
Beat together.
Bake at 375\u00b0 for 35 minutes.
