Lemon Buttermilk Pound Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/2 c. vegetable shortening
    3 c. sugar
    7 eggs
    1 c. buttermilk
    3 1/2 c. plain flour
    1/4 tsp. salt
    1/2 tsp. baking powder
    2 tsp. vanilla
    2 tsp. lemon
Preparation
    Mix together shortening and sugar.
    Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.
    Sift together flour, salt and baking powder.
    Add alternating with buttermilk, starting and ending with flour mixture.
    Add vanilla and lemon flavoring.
    Bake at 325\u00b0 in a preheated oven 1 hour and 10 to 15 minutes.
    (Bake in a cold oven 1 1/2 hours.)
    Bake in a large tube Teflon pan; grease but do not flour pan.
    Let sit 10 minutes.
    Turn out and let sit with pan over until cold.
