Mango Chutney - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 1/3 c. vinegar
    7 c. sugar
    12 c. ripe mangoes
    1/2 c. green ginger root or candied ginger
    1 tsp. salt
    4 chili peppers
    2 cloves garlic (optional)
    3 c. raisins
    2 large onions, cut up
Preparation
    Boil the sugar and vinegar for 5 minutes.
    Then combine all the ingredients and simmer until the fruit is tender, about 45 minutes.
