Pizza Loaf - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 long (1 lb.) loaf French bread or 4 Italian rolls
    butter or margarine, softened
    1/2 c. grated Parmesan cheese
    1 tsp. salt
    1 1/2 Tbsp. minced onion
    1/4 c. sliced olives (optional)
    2 ripe tomatoes, thinly sliced
    3/4 lb. ground beef
    1/2 tsp. dried oregano leaves
    1 1/2 tsp. pepper
    1 1/2 (6oz.) cans tomato paste
    8 slices cheese
Preparation
    Cut bread loaf or rolls in halves, lengthwise.
    Spread with butter. Brown beef and drain. Combine with Parmesan cheese, seasonings, onions, tomato paste and olives.
    Spread mixture on cut side of bread loaf or roll. Place loaves or rolls on cookie sheet. Top with tomato slices.
    Bake in moderate oven at 350\u00b0 for 20 minutes.
    Remove from oven, top with cheese slices and return to oven until cheese is melted, about 5 minutes.
    Makes 8 to 10 servings.
