Apple Roll Dumplings - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1/2 c. Crisco
3/4 c. milk
1 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. salt
sufficient flour to make dough stiff
3 c. apples, chopped
1 1/2 c. sugar
1 c. water
cinnamon or nutmeg
Preparation

Cook water and sugar to thin syrup.
Roll dough about 1/8-inch thick.
Spread on this chopped apples. Sprinkle cinnamon or nutmeg and roll as for jelly roll.
Slice about 2 inches thick and place in pan, flat side down.
Put lump of butter on each.
Pour over all thin syrup and bake in a moderate oven.
Serve with cream.
