Christmas Pickles - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 gal. cucumbers
    4 c. vinegar
    4 Tbsp. alum
    4 Tbsp. salt
    4 Tbsp. pickling spice
Preparation
    Wash cucumbers and put into glass gallon jar.
    Combine all other ingredients and pour solution over cucumbers.
    Sit in a cool place for a week.
    Wash cucumbers and slice putting back into jar with 6 cups of sugar and 2 tablespoons water.
    Put in refrigerator.
    May eat after 2 weeks.
