Cucumber Crisp - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    10 to 12 large cucumbers
    1 c. pickling lime
    2 gal. water
    1 gal. vinegar
    5 c. sugar
    2 Tbsp. pickling spice
Preparation
    Peel and cube cucumbers.
    Add to water and lime mixture (use crock or plastic container) that the lime has been dissolved in overnight.
    Wash cucumbers under running water until water is clear.
    Put cucumbers in ice water for 2 hours.
    Drain cucumbers. Mix vinegar, sugar and spices.
    Add cucumbers; let set overnight.
