Layered Lettuce Salad - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 head lettuce
    1 c. celery, diced
    4 hard-cooked eggs, diced
    1/2 c. diced green peppers
    1 sweet onion, diced
    8 slices bacon, fried and diced
    2 c. mayonnaise
    2 Tbsp. sugar
    1 (10 oz.) pkg. frozen green peas, uncooked
    4 oz. Cheddar cheese, grated
Preparation
    Tear the cleaned crispy lettuce into bite size pieces and place in a 9 x 12-inch glass dish.
    Layer rest of ingredients in order given. Add the sugar to the mayonnaise and spread over the top as you would frosting.
    Top with grated cheese.
    Cover and refrigerate for 8 to 10 hours.
    At serving time, garnish with additional bacon.
