English Toffee - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1/2 lb. butter
5 Tbsp. water
1 1/2 c. sugar
1/2 c. slivered almonds
2 Hershey bars, broken into small bits
1/4 c. finely ground nuts
Preparation

Over high flame, melt butter, sugar and water.
Boil together 3 minutes, stirring constantly.
Add almonds.
Cook very fast until mixture becomes caramel colored.
Pour into greased pan or shallow dish.
Break Hershey bars over surface.
When chocolate is melted, gently spread to cover top, then sprinkle with ground nuts.
