Hush Puppies - cooking recipe

Ingredients

1 c. meal
1/2 c. flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. soda
1 egg
1 c. buttermilk
1/2 c. chopped onions
1/2 tsp. salt

Preparation

Mix all ingredients slowly.
Let stand.
Drop by teaspoon into hot shortening.
Cook until golden brown.
