Jambalaya - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    6 oz. hot smoked sausage, sliced
    2 (14 1/2 oz.) cans Cajun style stewed tomatoes
    8 oz. medium shrimp or 6 oz. diced ham
    1 c. uncooked rice
    1 large clove garlic, minced
    1 bay leaf
    1 Tbsp. chopped parsley
Preparation
    Brown sausage (and ham if using) in 4-quart pan.
    Drain tomatoes, reserving liquid.
    Add water to liquid to make 1 1/2 cups.
    Add to sausage with tomatoes, shrimp and remaining ingredients.
    Bring to a boil.
    Stir.
    Reduce heat to low. Cover; simmer 30 to 35 minutes or until liquid is absorbed, stirring occasionally.
    Remove bay leaf.
    Yields 4 to 6 servings.
