Boiled Custard - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 qt. milk
    1 c. sugar
    1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
    1 tsp. salt
    2 Tbsp. flour
    1 egg
Preparation
    Let milk come to boiling point. Mix sugar, salt and flour together. Beat egg and add to mixture until it is smooth. Add hot milk to mixture in a bowl a little at a time until it is smooth and then put back in boiler and cook. Cook, stirring until thick. Add vanilla when cool.
