Mom'S Chocolate Pie - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/2 c. sugar
    2 big Tbsp. cocoa
    2 1/2 Tbsp. cornstarch
    3 large eggs (save whites for meringue)
    1 can milk plus 1 can water
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1 baked deep dish 9-inch pie shell
    1/4 tsp. cream of tartar
    6 Tbsp. sugar
Preparation
    Mix 1 1/2 cups sugar with cocoa; add cornstarch and mix well. Separate eggs, save whites for meringue.
    Beat yolks.
    Set aside, add 1 can milk plus 1 can of water to the powder mixture.
    Mix well over medium heat.
    Add egg yolks before mixture is hot; let come to a full boil for 1 minute.
    Remove from heat and add vanilla flavoring.
    Pour into baked deep dish 9-inch pie shell.
