Favorite Chili Con Carne - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. coarsely chopped onion
    1/4 c. chili powder
    3 cloves garlic, minced
    1/2 c. chopped green pepper
    3 Tbsp. vegetable oil
    2 lb. lean ground beef
    4 large tomatoes, peeled and quartered
    4 c. cooked kidney beans
    1 tsp. salt
Preparation
    Saute onion, garlic and green pepper in hot oil in Dutch oven. Add ground beef; cook over medium heat until browned, stirring to crumble beef.
    Drain.
    Add remaining ingredients; bring to a boil. Cover; reduce heat and simmer 1 hour, stirring occasionally. Yield:
    2 quarts.
