Pralines - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 lb. brown sugar
    1 to 1 1/2 Tbsp. butter
    3/4 c. evaporated milk
    2/3 tsp. vanilla
    2 c. pecan halves
Preparation
    In heavy skillet, combine sugar, salt, milk and butter.
    Stir over low heat until dissolved.
    Add pecans.
    Increase heat.
    Cook to 234\u00b0 (soft ball stage).
    Remove from heat.
    Stir in vanilla. Let cook in pan 5 minutes.
    Stir rapidly until mixture thickens and coats pecans lightly.
    Drop rapidly from a spoon on foil or wax paper.
    If too hard, add drops of hot water to desired consistency.
