Buttermilk Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. shortening
    2 c. sugar
    5 egg yolks
    1 c. buttermilk
    5 egg whites
    1 tsp. almond extract
    1/2 tsp. soda
    1/4 tsp. salt
    3 c. softened all-purpose flour
Preparation
    Cream sugar and shortening.
    Add the egg yolks, one at a time, beating well after each addition.
    Measure the sifted flour and sift again with soda and salt.
    Add dry ingredients alternately with milk and extracts.
    Beat egg whites until stiff and fold into batter.
    Pour in greased and floured tube pan.
    Put cake in a cold oven and set temperature at 300\u00b0.
    Bake 1 hour and 15 minutes.
