Date Loaf - cooking recipe
Ingredients

3 c. sugar
1 c. milk (can use undiluted evaporated milk)
1 c. nuts, chopped
2 tsp. vanilla
1 pkg. dates, cut up
2 Tbsp. butter/oleo
Preparation

Mix sugar and milk in saucepan. Add cut up dates.
Boil slowly to soft ball stage.
Remove from heat. Add butter, vanilla and nuts.
Stir until mixture begins to thicken.
Pour at one end of a cloth dampened with cold water, squeeze water out and roll dough in cloth.
When cold, unroll and cut the loaf.
