Cherry Torte - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/2 c. sugar
    1 c. flour
    1 tsp. soda
    1 tsp. cinnamon
    1/2 c. chopped nuts
    1/4 tsp. salt
    1 egg, beaten
    1 tsp. salad oil
    1 can or 2 c. drained sour cherries
Preparation
    Mix dry ingredients.
    Add cherries, egg and salad oil.
    Mix well.
    This will take about 5 minutes, until sugar dissolves. Place in an 8-inch square baking pan and bake in a 350\u00b0 oven for 30 to 40 minutes.
    Serve warm with whipped cream or ice cream.
