Ingredients

3/4 c. sugar
2 Tbsp. cornstarch
1/4 tsp. salt
2 c. milk
2 egg yolks
2 Tbsp. butter
1 tsp. vanilla
Preparation

Sift sugar, cornstarch and salt.
Into pan, add milk; bring to a boil (slowly).
Cook 2 minutes.
Separate egg whites and yolks; save whites for meringue.
Stir a small amount of hot mixture into beaten egg yolks.
Keep alternating hot mixture into egg yolks. Stir into hot mixture.
Cook another 2 to 3 minutes.
Add vanilla and butter.
Alternate mixture with wafers and bananas.
Top with meringue.
Double for larger pudding.
