Texas Governor Ann W. Richards Jalapeno Cheese Cornbread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/2 c. cornbread mix
    3/4 c. milk
    1 egg
    1/2 green onion, chopped
    1/2 c. creamed corn
    1/4 c. chopped jalapeno pepper
    3/4 c. grated cheese (Cheddar, Monterey Jack or both)
    1 Tbsp. sugar
    2 Tbsp. oil
    bacon bits (optional)
    chopped pimento (optional)
    garlic (optional)
Preparation
    Combine all ingredients and mix well.
    Pour into buttered baking dish and bake at 425\u00b0 for about 25 minutes or until done. This is a wonderful recipe.
    It is particularly good with chicken, pork and any vegetable.
