Red Velvet Cake - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 1/2 c. sugar
2 eggs
2 1/2 c. plain flour, sifted
1 1/2 c. oil (Crisco or Wesson)
1 c. buttermilk
2 tsp. red food coloring
1 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. white vinegar
Preparation

Separate eggs and set egg whites aside.
Mix sugar and egg yolks with electric mixer.
Add buttermilk.
Mix well. Sift flour and baking soda together.
Add flour and oil, about one third at a time, into the sugar mixture.
Make sure flour is the last ingredient added.
Add vanilla, red food coloring and vinegar. With clean beaters, beat egg whites until stiff.
Fold into mixture.
Spoon into three 9-inch cake pans sprayed with nonstick baking spray.
Bake in a preheated 350\u00b0 oven for approximately 30 minutes or until cake pulls away from sides of the cake pan.
