Doughnut Muffins - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/3 c. soft shortening
    1 c. sugar
    1 egg
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
    1/4 tsp. nutmeg
    1/2 c. milk
    1 1/2 c. flour
    6 Tbsp. melted butter
    1/2 c. sugar
    1 tsp. cinnamon
Preparation
    Cream shortening and 1 cup sugar.
    Add egg and beat well.
    Mix flour, baking powder, salt and nutmeg together. Add dry mixture alternately with milk to the egg mixture, blending well after each addition.
    Fill greased muffin pans 2/3 full.
    Bake in 350\u00b0 oven for about 25 minutes until golden brown.
    Remove from pans at once and roll in melted butter, then in mixture of 1/2 cup sugar and 1 teaspoon of cinnamon.
    Cool on rack.
    Makes 12.
