Ingredients

6 eggs
1/4 lb. butter
1/2 c. Crisco shortening
1 1/2 c. sugar
6 tsp. baking powder
3 1/2 c. flour
1/4 tsp. salt
1 tsp. vanilla
anise seed
Preparation

Cream shortening.
Add sugar.
Beat in eggs and vanilla. Gradually add the flour, sifted with baking powder and salt.
Add anise seed last; mix well.
Spoon on a cookie sheet.
Bake at 350\u00b0 for 20 to 25 minutes until light tan.
Slice and put back in oven to toast them.
