Potato Casserole - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 lb. hash brown potatoes (leftover or frozen)
    1/2 c. melted butter
    2 c. grated sharp Cheddar cheese
    1 tsp. salt
    1/4 tsp. pepper
    1/4 c. chopped onion (optional)
    1 can chicken soup (undiluted)
    1 pt. sour cream
    1 c. crushed cornflakes
    1/4 c. melted butter
Preparation
    Mix potatoes and 1/2 cup butter.
    Add the Cheddar cheese, salt, pepper, onion, chicken soup and sour cream; mix well.
    Put in a 9 x 12-inch casserole.
    Top with cornflakes, mixed with 1/4 cup melted butter.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 1 hour.
