Ingredients

1 lb. beef flank steak
1/2 tsp. garlic salt
1 1/2 tsp. salt
1/8 tsp. pepper or 1/4 tsp. freshly ground pepper (black)
Preparation

Trim off all visible fat. Cut steak lengthwise (with the grain) into thin strips (about 3/16-inch thick). Combine seasonings. Sprinkle over strips.
Mix well. Arrange strips of meat, flat and close together, on wire racks on a shallow cookie sheet.
Bake in a slow oven at 175\u00b0 for 4 hours or until dry and almost crisp.
Cool on paper towels.
Store in airtight jars and keep in refrigerator.
