Taffy Apple Salad - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. sugar
    2 Tbsp. flour
    1/2 envelope Knox gelatine
    1 (8 oz.) can crushed pineapple, drained (save juice)
    1 egg, beaten
    1 (8 oz.) carton Cool Whip
    4 c. apples, diced
    1 c. pecans or toffee or honey roasted peanuts
Preparation
    Combine diced apples, Cool Whip, pineapple and nuts in serving dish. Mix sugar, flour, gelatine, pineapple juice and egg in a saucepan. Cook slowly until it boils and thickens. Cool completely. When cool, pour the sauce over the apples, Cool Whip, pineapple and nuts. Refrigerate. Best if made the night before.
