Granny'S Beef Stew - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 lb. stew beef
    2 c. potatoes, peeled and cubed
    2 c. carrots, peeled and sliced
    1 chopped onion
    flour and oil
    water
    1 Tbsp. vinegar
Preparation
    Brown beef by first covering with flour and then cooking in oil (approximately 1/2 cup).
    Add onion.
    When beef is browned and onion glossy, add enough water to pot to fill 3/4 full.
    Add potatoes, carrots and vinegar.
    Bring to a boil.
    Then simmer for approximately 2 hours, stirring occasionally.
    Before serving, add salt and pepper to taste.
    Serve over rice.
