Holubky(Slovak Stuffed Cabbage) - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 lb. loose head cabbage
    1/2 c. rice, cooked in boiling water (about 8 minutes) and drained
    1 medium can tomatoes
    1 slice pork shoulder, cut in pieces
    1 lb. ground beef and pork
    salt and pepper
    1 large can sauerkraut
    1 egg
Preparation
    Combine meat, rice, egg and seasonings.
    Core cabbage and parboil about 20 minutes, covered.
    Separate leaves, when cool; stuff with meat mixture and roll up.
    In large kettle, place a layer of sauerkraut, then a layer of cabbage rolls, then a layer of tomatoes, then pieces of pork shoulder, seasoning as you go. When all is used, cover to the top of the kettle with boiling water and cook over medium heat about 2 1/2 hours.
