German Honey Bars - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 1/3 c. honey or molasses
3/4 c. sugar
3 tbsp. butter
3 1/2-5 c. flour, sifted
1 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 c. blanched almonds
1/4 c. each-candied orange and lemon peel
1/4 tsp. ginger
1/2 tsp. cardamon
2 tsp. cinnamon
1/8 tsp. ground cloves
Preparation

Preheat oven to 350\u00b0.
Mix honey and sugar; add butter.
Sift and add 2 c. flour, enough to make a semi-liquid dough.
Add baking powder and soda, then almonds, peels and spices.
Then stir in 1 1/2-2 more c. flour.
Dough should now be sticky to the touch.
