Raisin Muffins - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. raisins
    1 1/2 c. water
    1 tsp. baking soda
    1/2 c. shortening
    1 c. sugar
    1 egg
    2 c. flour
    1 tsp. baking powder
    1 tsp. cinnamon
    1/2 tsp. ground cloves
    1/2 tsp. vanilla
    1/2 c. chopped nutmeats
Preparation
    Boil raisins and water together until only 1 cup liquid is left.
    Cool and add baking soda.
    Cream shortening, sugar and egg. Sift together flour, baking powder, cinnamon and cloves and add to creamed mixture.
    Add vanilla, nuts and raisin mixture.
    Batter will be thick.
    Pour into greased or paper-lined cupcake tins and bake at 350\u00b0 for 20 minutes.
